Delete your data
Last updated 18 September 2026
You can ask for the data Kidjig Messages holds about you to be deleted, whether or not you have an account. You do not need to sign in to make the request, and there is no charge.
Email us, from any address, with the word delete in the subject:
Tell us the mobile number or email address the data is held against, so we can find it. We will reply to confirm once it is done.
If a business messaged you
Kidjig Messages is used by businesses to message their own customers. If a shop, gym, clinic or studio wrote to you through it, that business entered your details and the request is really theirs to answer, so it is usually quickest to ask them directly. You can write to us instead and we will either pass it on or act on it ourselves.
What gets deleted
- Your name, mobile number, email address and postal address
- Anything the business recorded against you — plan, fees, dates and its own notes
- The message history, including replies you sent and any pictures exchanged
If you hold an account for a business rather than being one of its customers, deleting that account removes your name, email address and sign-in details. Messages already sent by your business stay with that business's own record unless it asks for those to go too.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups are kept for 30 days and then destroyed, so a deletion can take up to 30 days to disappear from every copy.
- Where the law requires a record to be kept — a delivery log for a message that has already been sent, for instance — that record is kept for as long as the law says and no longer.
- WhatsApp itself holds its own copy of anything delivered through it. That is Meta's to delete, not ours, and their policy governs it.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. The privacy policy sets out what the service stores and why.
